Onsen Experience amidst Green Nature
Yufuin is located in a small valley is blessed with magnificent and abundant nature. Fields and rice paddies are spread throughout the valley. Travelers are not just attracted by the onsen here but also the beautiful natural scenery and relaxing atmosphere.
Yufuin has the second highest onsen water flow in Japan. The type of onsen in Yufuin is simple hot spring which is colorless, transparent, tasteless and odorless. It is said to be effective for recovery from fatigue, skin beauty and relief of muscle pain.
Things to Do in Yufuin
Yufuin is surrounded by mountains including the famous Yufudake (Mt. Yufu). This volcano is characterized by the distinctive twin peaks. You can hike up the mountain within 2-3 hours if you like to enjoy the spectacular panorama of Yufuin.
Another natural landmark is Lake Kinrin(Lake Kinrinko). It is a small lake with two separate onsen on its bottom . The morning mist rises silently from the warm water creating a beautiful fantasy-like scene especially in autumn and winter.
You can find many cafes, boutiques, art galleries and small museums on the main street of the town.
